Racing to keep pace with a borderless world
Business Challenge
As connected vehicles, IoT devices and next-generation mobile services expand globally, mobile network operators and technology providers face growing pressure to deliver secure, low-latency connectivity across borders while meeting increasingly complex regulatory requirements.
The Cennso Technologies team identified a significant gap in the market. Traditional networking architectures and cloud deployment models often required months of implementation time, deep operational expertise and complex integration work across networking, security, monitoring and infrastructure management platforms. That gap created three obstacles for the business:
- Slow deployment cycles that delayed customer onboarding and revenue realization
- Rising operational costs driven by a shortage of Kubernetes and cloud-native engineering skills
- Legacy network designs that struggled to support the low-latency demands of modern 5G, automotive and IoT workloads
The pressure was most acute for Tier-1 telecommunications operators and automotive manufacturers, who needed carrier-grade performance, predictable latency, global reach and strict adherence to data residency rules. Without a platform built to meet those requirements, Cennso Technologies customers risked delayed deployments, reduced service quality, compliance exposure and an inability to support mission-critical connected-vehicle and mobile data services.
- 50+IBM Cloud locations worldwide
- 20+countries supported for local traffic breakout
- 40%reduction in infrastructure costs
IBM Cloud builds a managed, IBM-native experience, giving GMCP a way to deploy global, carrier-grade connectivity services rapidly and consistently.

To support the growing demands of connected vehicles and IoT services, Cennso Technologies worked with IBM to build the Global Mobile Connectivity Platform (GMCP), a cloud-native platform designed to deliver secure, low-latency mobile connectivity across international markets.
Built on IBM Cloud®, GMCP enables mobile data to move efficiently across borders while helping organizations address regulatory and data sovereignty requirements, including GDPR compliance. The platform supports real-time connectivity for vehicles, devices and applications without relying on extensive physical infrastructure.
To accelerate global deployment and simplify operations, Cennso Technologies adopted an Infrastructure Code approach using IBM Cloud Schematics®. This standardized how environments are provisioned and managed, reducing operational complexity while allowing the platform to scale consistently across more than 50 IBM Cloud locations worldwide.
Working together, Cennso Technologies and IBM have successfully validated the platform through an end-to-end Remote Packet Gateway Service demonstration using live GRX connectivity and eSIM services, proving that a carrier-grade mobile connectivity platform could operate reliably on IBM Cloud and support global expansion.
Faster deployments, simpler operations and enterprise-scale growth
GMCP now enables customers to deploy global mobile connectivity services in hours rather than months, helping organizations bring new connectivity offerings to market faster. By using IBM Cloud Schematics®, Cennso Technologies reduced infrastructure management complexity, achieving a 40% reduction in infrastructure costs while helping accelerate time-to-market for new connectivity services.
As the platform has matured, it has supported multi-million-euro initiatives for Tier-1 telecommunications providers, automotive manufacturers, IoT programs and sovereign network projects. Faster proof-of-concept validation, accelerated onboarding and lower deployment risk have helped customers move forward with greater confidence in global-scale deployments.
The success of GMCP has also strengthened Cennso Technologies' position as a trusted provider of carrier-grade connectivity solutions for enterprise, government, defense, automotive, IoT and telecommunications organizations. Building on that momentum, Cennso Technologies and IBM continue to expand the platform globally, including the transition to IBM Cloud VPC environments, broader regional deployment and support for local traffic breakout in more than 20 countries.
